Heartworm Treatment and Prevention

Almost all of the dogs that come through the doors of Chain of Hope are infected with heartworm disease. Normally this is very preventable. All it takes is a once a month chewable pill administered to the dog. Unfortunately, these dogs are left on chains their entire lives, neglected, abused, and are not given the opportunity to be healthy...until they are rescued. Once in the arms of Chain of Hope, the dogs are tested for heartworms and treatment begins. Heartworm treatment is very expensive and these furry friends depend on your support and our persistence to become healthy and happy. Please help us continue to help these animals...who cannot help themselves.

To learn more about heartworms and how to prevent your pet from becoming a victim please visit the American Heartworm Society website at www.heartwormsociety.org.
