Domestic Violence Shelters in MO & KS (with pet support)

Many local shelters work with programs (like BestyBnB) to help find temporary housing or foster care for pets if a shelter itself cannot house animals. Call the metro hotline (below) and ask specifically about pet accommodations or BestyBnB support:

  • KC Metro Domestic Violence Hotline:
816-468-5463 — connects to local shelters and can help coordinate pet placement.

Shelters / Agencies Serving Survivors

  • Hope House (Lee’s Summit, MO) – Emergency shelter and comprehensive support.

Many of these partner with networks (like BestyBnB) that find foster homes or temporary boarding for pets if the shelter doesn’t have on-site kennels. Ask when you call.
